Literature Text

I can't be your oxygen

I came apart, poured into you

I gave you all I am

You took me in

Used me up

Now let me out

Empty air is poison

This is my first attempt at poetry in years. The idea has been on my mind and #Writers-Workshop's free verse workshop [link] gave me the impetus I needed to try putting down the words. So here is my fashionably late entry for January's workshop, attempting to use rhythm, enjambment, and metaphor.
Let me know what you think. I am always looking to improve.

Hello!

As part of :iconthetitlepage:'s Found Poetry: Titles as Art project, I've used the title of this wonderful deviation in a poem here:

Tell Me What You've Gone and Done Now

Thank you so much!
